Google Introduces New Affiliate Program

Google Introduces New Affiliate Program

Google has introduced a new way to make money using its AdSense program. Webmasters can now choose to create advertisement for specific products.

It was already possible to add ads for Google products like AdWords and Firefox. Now Google made it possible to choose a number of articles (like online games), and generate scripting code to place in a website that will display as an ad for those articles.

There are a great number of product categories with many many subcategories. The next main categories are featured:

Animals
Arts & Humanities
Automotive
Beauty & personal care
Business
Computer & Electronics
Entertainment
Finance & Insurance
Food & Drink
Games
Health
Home & Garden
Industries
Internet
Lifestyles
Online communities
Photo & Video
Real Estate
Recreation
Reference
Science
Shopping
Society
Sports
Telecommunication
Travel

This service offers great new opportunities. In many cases, content related advertisements are great, because they usually fit to the public of your website. But say you write an article on a website about video games, but your specific article is about the juridical aspects surrounding a new, violent video game. The content of that article could contain many keywords related to law and lawyers, and ads about job openings is law firms could be displayed around your article, although it would have been more appropriate to show, for example, ads about other new video games. In such a situation, implementing a self-chosen advertisement could be a very good option.

These referrals, however, work a bit different than normal ads. It is not about the clicks one receives, but about the actual sales resulting from the link-throughs. This percentage will probably be much lower, but bonuses for successful referrals can be much higher as well. A short search through all the possible options revealed that some companies pay up to 80USD for 1 successful referral!
